SIMPSONS RULZ


It's party time for The Simpsons and they are having Donuts and Duff Beers everywhere. The famous television sitcom, The Simpsons are achieving thousand times more in the big screen. Right now The Simpsons are on the top most rank in the theaters all around the world and they have created a blast in their debut film.

During the first weekend of its release the movie sold tickets about U$168 million according to the distributor 20th Century Fox. In North America the movie tickets worth about U$71.85 million. Senior vice president Chris Aronson from Fox expected that the movie will open up at a range of U$40 million. But The Simpsons brought them more than their expectations. The making of the film cost about U$ 75 million and The Simpsons’ franchise knew the movie will bring them multibillion dollar. The international revenue the movie gathered was U$96 million from 71 regions. According to Fox the highlights were Germany (U$14.2 million) and Britain (U$27.8 million) -- other countries like Argentina, Uruguay, Finland, Colombia and Chile, the film had an opening record. Simpsons will hold back their position for couple of weeks except in Japan, where the people have to wait till March 2008. This is because according to Fox's cop-president Paul Hanneman, the market is not that strong in Japan for The Simpsons.
